XHHW Type MC aluminum cable is a practical choice for commercial and industrial power distribution where armored cable can simplify installation and reduce the need for separate raceway and conductor pulling. Its combination of aluminum conductors and metal-clad construction makes it well suited for projects where overall cable weight, installation time, routing flexibility, and conductor capacity are important considerations. Custom Cable Corp. offers a broad range of sizes to support feeder, branch circuit, and other building power applications.

Features:
XHHW Type MC aluminum cable is commonly installed in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, multi-family properties, schools, warehouses, and other projects where feeder or branch circuit wiring needs both aluminum conductors and metal-clad protection.
The metal armor helps protect the insulated aluminum conductors from physical damage during routing and installation. This can be helpful in building environments where wiring may be exposed to movement, contact, or mechanical stress before it reaches panels, equipment, or junction points.
It can be used for either, depending on conductor size, ampacity, circuit design, and code requirements. Larger sizes are often associated with feeder circuits, while smaller configurations may be used for branch circuit or equipment wiring.
Aluminum conductors require compatible lugs, connectors, and termination practices. Buyers should confirm that the selected cable, terminals, and equipment are rated for aluminum conductors and that the installation follows applicable electrical code and manufacturer requirements.
A jacketed aluminum MC cable may be preferred when the installation requires added protection from moisture, sunlight, corrosion, or environmental exposure. The correct jacket depends on where the cable will be installed and what conditions it may face.
