EPR refers to ethylene propylene rubber insulation, and HYP refers to a hypalon-style protective jacket. This construction is used when the wire needs dependable insulation performance and added protection in demanding environments.
USE-2 EPR/HYP uses rubber-based insulation with a protective jacket, while USE-2 XLP uses cross-linked polyethylene insulation. The best choice depends on the application, installation environment, flexibility needs, and project specifications.
